Haunting Brighton

Welly Welly Well then.
Things have most certainly moved on.
I am now in my 3rd year of university! A terrifying prospect that I do not care to recall. I have to keep reassuring myself that I'll never become an adult.
This year is going really well, My current modules are History and Theory of Film, Approaches to analysing discourse and Creative Writing. I am unbelievable excited about creative writing. Last week we went to the museum and art gallery near the pavilion and were commissioned to choose an object, write about it in the third person, then write from the object's perspective. I chose these amazing china cats

Look at their weird little faces! Their grins scare me but I think that's why I love them so much. I also find it hilarious that their pendants are little pictures of dogs!.
They had replicas for sale for £250!!! I suppose I'll have to start saving if I need them in my life so bad.
For the module I plan to finish my novel that I started 2 years ago. I'm actually really looking forward to it.

In other news.
I have a new sweetness in my life called Will. He is extremely adorable, makes me breakfast every morning and makes jokes like "you can't have only one Bon Bon, then it's just Bon!" He studies photography and has recently taken some photos of me which I'm sure I can put up soon.
Here he is, in all his glory

He also has a RAD tattoo

I am smitten by this kitten.

I also have sad news, I have to move out of my lovely little home that I care about so very much :(
I just can't afford it anymore, so my friend Pete and I found a cute little two bedroom place to share, which is still very exciting, and we'll be living opposite my good friend Davey ^.^. It's also right near my favourite picturehouse Duke of York's It's so stunning and they only play the best in new cinema, with amazing special events like The Bolshoi ballet streamed live, halloween all nighters (this year it's a John Carpenter marathon) and live Q&As with David Attenborough, dreamy.

I have a new job too!
I work at my favourite club in Brighton, The Haunt. It's the best job I've ever had, it's basically like going out with friends but getting paid for it. I work behind the bar and everybody there is so fun and friendly, I feel really lucky. Last night Wakey! Wakey! played. He was one of the sweetest performers I have ever come across, such a friendly and amusing young chap, the support was excellent too: Casey Shea and To Kill a King, I was blown away by these guys. It's so satisfying to see good bands while getting paid. Dark Party is coming to The Haunt too! It's my favourite night from Luton and the only thing (apart from my friends) that Brighton is missing. AND it's every Thursday, I am immensely excited!

Yayy,
so that's most of it.
I have some cutes and pretties to update you with.
Catch you on the flipside kits

Been a while kittens

Goodness me I am just awful!
Things have been busy in the mittens household. I have only just finished my second year of university so have been working really hard and spending every waking hour dans le bibliotheque. I wrote a research project on The Language of Hip Hop studying the venacular of Snoop Dogg and Tyler the Creator. It was hilarious to transcribe. I also completed a photography project studying the works of Lyndon Wade. Here are my attempts, I'm not as happy as I hoped I would be with them:

Just playing around wih staged photography and the idea of private made public using only one setting but being able to change the mood and narrative blahg.
I did all this in two weeks because I was very naughty and decided to have crazy times getting drunk instead at The Great Escape
It was magical, we found some beautiful negligee gowns and spent a whole evening dressed as Kate Bush, dancing around in the Pavilion Gardens singing Wuthering Heights
I felt like a fairy queen.

I also spent this past Saturday at Strawberry Fair in Cambridge, had some crazy hippy fun:

I've had some good and bad times since my last post, I broke up with my love of three years which was difficult so I'm now living alone, but I have a lovely new house bunny to live with me and the kitties called Ludo, he's a sweetie pie:

my hair is back to brown too, and here is the crochet bracelet I took so very long to post:
Whew, long post, took me quite a while. Well Kittycattins. I won't be such a stranger.

Hello Kittens!
I'm having a delightful weekend looking after my mama's kitties with my dear Chantal.

They're insaaaaaane.

We're going to watch fear and loathing in Las Vegas soon and we're drinking Green Monkeys.
A very classy mix of blue smirnoff, smirnoff ice and orange barcadi breezer.

so bright.
I'm also making some crochet bracelets for my Etsy shop
they will be up soon for a looky.
until then here are some beauties:

I am in love with these particular beasts!:

Cakes and Lambs

It's been a little while so I'm going to do a few updates.
I may not have told you before but I have a bit of an obsession with baking at the moment. I bake on average one cake per week (minimum) I can't figure out whether it's a healthy habit or extremely unhealthy. I hardly even eat the cakes! It's usually friends or the boy eating my cake.
Anyhow, here is the latest installment of my un/healthy addiction.

I would give the recipe but I don't measure my ingredients. I just chuck it all in and hope for the best. This one was just a plain victoria sponge with buttercream and raspberry jam.
. . .

My mum, brother's fiancee and I also went to a cute farm called Holmbush it was adorable! I saw two lambs being born and lots of lovely farm animals and we went on a tractor ride. I love springtime ^.^

How lovely!
Bye bye kittens (lambs)

Springtime cutes and pretties

I've been up since 6.30 this morning, which doesn't actually exist as a time for me.
But I feel really refreshed. We drove by the sea and it's a beautiful day.
I thought I might share this collection of cute spring time things.

Here is a lovely springtime song to leave you with. Enjoy the weather kittens.

New Baby

I haven't had much success with blogging. As with many projects I generally begin and all is well until it's dropped and forgotten about forever.
I hope this doesn't happen with this blog.

Today of all days seemed like the right time to start.
I left my part-time job in the Lovely Dirty Harry Brighton to free up time to pursue crafty dreams whilst not affecting my studies at Uni. So this blog will mainly be about my crafts, interesting things of the day, Brighton events, Fashion, baking, pin-up modelling and anything else that takes my fancy.

Here are some facts about myself,
I will, for now, go by the name of Betsy Mittens.
I study English Language and Media in my 2nd year at Brighton University.
I live with my boyfriend and two cats 2 minutes from the sea in the centre of my favourite place in England, Brighton.
I have big dreams and I hope that this is the beginning of something magical.
Oh, and right now my hair is lavender (I feel like a mythical beast).

Hope that you enjoy it, and may this blog survive.

Bye for now Kittens,
Betsy Mittens
